A New Sugaring Season Begins at Mac Hill Maple
Spring is stirring in the woods of Tamworth, and here at Mac Hill Maple, the 2026 sugaring season is officially underway! With crisp mornings, warming afternoons, and the promise of sap running strong, our team and forest are working in harmony to bring another delicious year of pure New Hampshire maple syrup to life.
This season, we’re excited to expand our production capacity by installing new sap lines throughout the sugarbush. These improvements allow us to increase the number of trees we can tap and collect sap from, strengthening the flow from forest to sugarhouse. It’s big work—planning routes, clearing paths, lifting and connecting tubing—but the payoff is worth every minute: better sap collection, more consistent runs, and a sweeter season for everyone who loves real maple syrup.
Now that our lines are in place, tapping has begun in earnest. As temperatures dance above and below freezing, the sap starts its journey from tree to tank. There’s something magical about that first drop of sap hitting the tubing—a sign that winter is yielding to spring, and that nature’s rhythms are once again guiding our work. Each tap we place honors both the health of the tree and the long New England tradition of sugarmaking that brings our community together year after year.
